With this poster, I wanted to turn the classical world of ballet a little upside down. I love the grace of ballerinas, but I find it even more exciting to show what lies behind the scenes: the discipline, the steadfastness, and the beauty that resides in imperfection.

For me, this ballerina is not a delicate creature but a fighter. She stands firmly en pointe, while her dark, almost ruined dress speaks of endurance and history. It is this interplay of Yin and Yang – the light of the golden ornaments against the heavy depth of the black and anthracite tones – that gives this image its soul.
